Surrogacy - sociological understanding and implications.

⏺️Liberal feminism :- it provide the economic opportunity for the surrogate mothers only 

available to women.

⏺️Marxist feminism :- it show the economic inequality between men and women bcz it's only available to wealthier couples.

⏺️Radical feminism :- renting a womb does nothing to combat the patriarchy and series issues such as violence against women.

2.Reshaped the role of gender ( reinforce the stereotyping against women of the breeders or baby makers).

3.It challenge the fundamental unit of society ( family + institution of marriage + parentage + 

relationship)

4.Fragmented motherhood ( into three competing women - gestational carrier + egg donor + genetic  mother ) 

5.Social stigma ( they thought commercial surrogate is like prostitution ) 

6.It present form of polarization in society ( use of poor and third world women wombs to produce children for rich people.

     🔸  Barbara Katz Rothman said :- it's form of oppression and exploitation by one group of class  under the grab of producing children,construes social relationships, the status of women.

7.Peculiar inherent nexus between law and social issues ( changes in one reflect the change in other - pattern of family formation + perentage as social institution:- law must be change in order to  control such changes ).
